Welcome to My Journey…

Growing up, I was incredibly fortunate to have a family who prioritized health and had the resources to provide me with a beautiful foundation for living well. I was an active kid, constantly exploring new activities— gymnastics, soccer, tennis, swimming, parkour—you name it. I also ate absolutely everything in sight, from carrots to Oreos to pasta and meatballs with tomato sauce.

As a teenager, I struggled to manage the stress of high school, the rollercoaster of hormonal changes, and the intensity of what we know simply know to be the human experience. I lost sight of my health, stopped exercising, and ate quite terribly. To make matters worse, I tried to compensate by following flashy health fads that only harmed me more.

Some of my worst meals ever left me deprived of energy, depressed, and feeling poorly about myself. I almost always skipped breakfast or started the day with a sugary coffee or energy drink. Thankfully, my mom—my saving grace—always made a nutritious, home-cooked dinner that would save my day, and probably me, from perishing. But still, for most of the day, I was underfed and nutrient-deficient, leaving me fatigued and stuck in a survival state.

In 2016, my mom introduced me to yoga, and I fell in love with the practice. By 2019, I had earned my Yoga Teacher Certification. I was getting ready to enter college, and at this point I was eating better and more, but I still wasn’t thriving. I continued experimenting with health fads— vegan sausage for breakfast, oat milk in my lattes, Annie’s mac and cheese with spinach and bacon (a college classic). My yoga practice slowed down, and I dabbled in weight training and treadmill sprints at the gym.

In August of 2021, I discovered a new way of eating. Over the next 6 months, as I shifted my habits, I experienced fat loss, body recomposition, and an improved flow of energy. Even today, I continue to make changes, experiment with new foods, and make this way of eating my own. I do not have a label for it, and I simply see it as intuitive and self-trusting— a way that honors my body, mind, and soul, and continues to grow and evolve with me.

In February of 2022, I experienced a major relationship fallout— one that, despite shattering my self-esteem and sense of self, ultimately changed the trajectory of my life in the best possible way. Instead of rotting in bed and licking my wounds, I committed to cultivating the strongest and best version of myself— I was ready to thrive.

I drew great inspiration from my supportive system and joined my brother, Luke, at the gym. I developed a training routine of my own. I continued to feed and nourish my body the way it deserved. From these foundational routines and habits blossomed more positive habits, more energy, and more love. I stepped into a state of thriving, and more importantly, I learned how to flow with life’s challenges rather than resist them. I traveled that summer and met incredible people who also sought to live fiercely and passionately. That toxic, negative energy from my past was replaced with love and abundance that radiated out from within myself, and that extended to the world around me.

Since then, I haven’t looked back.

Why I Do What I Do

Today, I refuse to live a life I need a vacation from.

My love letter to my body, my mind, and my soul, is written in the ways I move, nourish, and care for myself every day. In December 2024, I earned my Primal Health Coaching Certification with the mission of helping others do the same. Life will always have its highs and lows, but I’ve built a foundation that allows me to weather the storms and celebrate the rainbows— because every moment of being here is a blessing. I hope everyone else can see this too.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Through partnership and collaboration, I look forward to helping you step into your best self and experience the same abundance of love, freedom, and health.

Love always,

Alex Grace
